WOD 103011

I'M NOT EVEN REALLY SURE WHAT TO TALK ABOUT FIRST. BIG WEEKEND.

FIRST OFF, I WANT TO CONGRATULATE MY 2 TEAMS ON A PAIR OF INCREDIBLE UPSETS THAT TOOK PLACE THIS SEASON. OUR BOYS FROM FITCH HAVE FINALLY COME TOGETHER AND DESTROYED TOP-RANKED NEW LONDON IN THE FINAL MINUTES OF FRIDAY NIGHT'S GAME.

MY BOYS DERRIK AND SAF TORE IT UP. IT JUST GOES TO SHOW THE CAPABILITIES OF AN UNDERDOG WHEN THEY GO INTO A SITUATION WITH THE RIGHT ATTITUDE. I'M SO PROUD OF EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU GUYS.

IN STONINGTON, OUR BEARS PULLED OFF AN AWESOME UPSET OF THEIR OWN, TAKING DOWN THE POWERHOUSE OF NFA. HARRY CALMAR, ONE OF THE "TIMS" AT THE HALLOWEEN PARTY, LED THE FRONT WITH 2 TOUCHDOWNS. WISH I HAD SOME PICTURES... GREAT JOB GUYS!

NEXT ON THE SCHEDULE WAS THE SECT CROSSFIT TOTAL COMPETITION. FOR THOSE OF YOU NEW TO CROSSFIT, THE TOTAL IS A POWERLIFTING WORKOUT WHERE YOU WARMUP FOR EACH EXERCISE AND THEN HAVE 3 ATTEMPTS TO ESTABLISH YOUR 1 REP MAX OF SQUAT, PRESS, AND DEADLIFT. JOE CROZEIR, ANDY PYRPCH, AND MYSELF ENTERED THE MEET TO SHOW SUPPORT TO OUR NEIGHBORING CROSSFIT. SURPRISINGLY, JOE AND I, THE 2 SMALLEST BASTARDS OF THE MEET AT A WHOPPING 169# TOOK FIRST AND THIRD PLACE. JOE PUT UP AN INCREDIBLE 1046# TOTAL AND I CAME IN AT 840#. JOE AND I CELEBRATED THE EVENT BY HEADING BACK TO BOX AND DIONG A METCON (JOE'S FIRST AT CROSSFIT GROTON.) THIS IS AN ENORMOUS EVENT BECAUSE JOE HASN'T BEEN COMPLETELY SOLD ON THE IDEA. NONETHELESS, HE LOVED IT AND BROUGHT WITH HIM 3 AWESOME GUYS FROM THE COAST GAURD ACADEMY TO JUMP IN. ONE OF THEM ASKED ME TO WRITE SOMETHING FOR GRIP. SO HERE IT IS...

TODAY'S WOD:

5 ROUNDS OF:

2 40 METER FARMER CARRIES WITH KB'S 55# EACH
2 40 METER FARMER CARRIES WITH PVC HANDLES 35# EACH
5 165# AXLE DEADLIFTS
5 PULLUPS

FOR TIME
